Beyond the Stars - Innovative health education program
- Wallis and Futuna
The Numéris@nté project aims to develop educational programs in schools on the theme of balanced nutrition and the promotion of physical activity using innovative digital tools. Adapted to the context of the islands of Wallis and Futuna, this program aims to use scientific collaboration to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity. The project will implement Beyond the Stars (BTS), the world-first health education program created with support from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. BTS uses transmedia storytelling, innovative technology and tangential learning to inspire children across the Pacific to adopt healthy eating habits. Bringing together film, virtual reality, storybooks and games, BTS provides an innovative new way to educate children about health and nutrition. The Pacific Community translated all the educational resources to allow the French territories benefit from the tools.
