AFL France Kick a goal at the Eiffel Tower, Paris

AFL France is bringing to the heart of Paris, a day of exhibition matches, both male and female, showcasing Australia’s National Game, Australian Rules Football or “footy”. This event will bring together Australian and French sporting enthusiasts for a day of footy fun on Saturday 4th September 2021.
As a sport which continues to develop in France, with 10 clubs and counting, around the country, a growing base of male and female participants, Australian Football is becoming increasingly popular across all corners of the “Hexagone”. Australian football offers a common language for French people seeking to play this sport for the first time, and for Australian expats wanting a taste of home during their stay in France. Currently, players compete in the AFL France competition held between September and May each year, events such as the highly symbolic ANZAC Day match in April at Villers-Bretonneux, and the AFL Europe-organised Champions League.
The Stade Emile Anthoine, at the foot of the iconic Eiffel Tower, and across the road from the Australian Embassy is the location of the event which aims to connect Australian and French sport enthusiasts. The venue is easily accessible by foot or public transport.
As an open event, people of all ages are welcome to join AFL France and the Australian Football clubs of France, in celebrating Australia’s Game by “kicking a goal” for France, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
